Herbalife Acquisition Is Completed

An investor group led by private equity firms Whitney & Co. LLC and Golden Gate Capital Inc., in partnership with Herbalife distributors and senior management, completed the acquisition of Herbalife International Inc. in July. Herbalife has more than a million distributors who sell the company’s products in 54 countries, according to company executives. The investor group financed the acquisition with $176 million of equity capital. Herbalife’s distributors and senior management will invest alongside Whitney and Golden Gate, executives said.
